Accountants in Harrow
Harrow has two working sides: the shops and offices around St Anns Road and College Road, and the industrial estates of Wealdstone, where most of the borough's land for industry sits. We look after the tax and the books for both.
Working in Harrow
If you run a van in Harrow, you probably know Forward Drive. Screwfix and Toolstation both trade from Christchurch Industrial Estate in Wealdstone, and CEF has its electrical counter on the same estate, so one stop covers most of a morning's shopping. The council's list of industrial estates runs to more than a dozen sites, including Barratt Way, Tudor Enterprise Park, Whitefriars and Waverley, and these Wealdstone estates are where the borough's trade and light industrial firms are based.
There is a lot of building going on. Harrow and Wealdstone is a London Plan Opportunity Area with a target of at least 5,000 new homes, and on the old Kodak land Eastman Village is passing 2,000 homes, with its last phase due to finish in 2028. Poets Corner, on the former Civic Centre site by Harrow and Wealdstone station, adds another 1,058.
Getting around costs money here. Harrow is inside the ULEZ, and a vehicle that does not meet the standard pays £12.50 a day. Pay and display on College Road and the middle of Station Road went up to £3.30 an hour from 1/7/2026, while most Wealdstone streets are £1.50.
The town centre itself is shops, restaurants, cafés, takeaways, hair and beauty, and offices for banks, estate agents and solicitors. There are about 372 shopfronts between the St Anns and St George's shopping centres and the streets around them.
How we help people in Harrow
For the trades around Wealdstone, the usual jobs are CIS refunds and the yearly tax return. For shops and cafés near St Anns Road, it is more often payroll, VAT and bookkeeping. Questions people in Harrow ask us
Can you help if my unit is on one of the Wealdstone estates?
Yes. It makes no difference whether you are on Christchurch Industrial Estate, Barratt Way or Waverley. Rent on the unit, business rates and the running costs all go into your accounts, and we check nothing has been missed.
I work on Eastman Village as a subcontractor. Can you get my CIS back?
Often, yes, if more tax was taken than you owe. Homes there have been finished in phases since 2020 and the last phase runs to 2028, so if you have worked on it for a while you may have more than one tax year to look at. We add up the statements, set your costs against them and claim the difference through your tax return.
Is parking in Harrow town centre something I can claim?
If you park there for a work visit, yes in most cases. College Road, Greenhill Way and the central part of Station Road are £3.30 an hour from 1/7/2026, so keep the receipts or the app history. Parking fines are a different matter and cannot be claimed.
My shop is in the Harrow business improvement district. Does that change my accounts?
A business improvement district is an area where businesses pay a small levy to fund town centre projects, and Harrow's is in its third term, which began on 1/4/2024. If your shop pays the levy, it sits in your accounts next to your rates. We also keep an eye on how close you are to the VAT threshold.
I live in Wealdstone and the new parking zone has changed my street. Can I claim a permit?
If you need the permit for a van you use for work, part or all of it can usually count as a business cost. The Victor Road zone and the tighter Wealdstone Royal Estate zone started a trial on 5/1/2026, running Monday to Saturday, 8am to 6.30pm. Send us the permit receipt with your other paperwork and we will treat it correctly.
