Working in Ealing

Ealing has two very different kinds of work. The town centre and the office corridor along Uxbridge Road bring shop fit outs, office refits and maintenance contracts, while the heavy end sits in Park Royal, London's largest business park, with over 1,200 businesses and around 35,000 workers. So much of Park Royal is food and drink that the Mayor's office nicknamed it London's Kitchen.

Hanwell is quieter but still has around 1,200 businesses, and the Trumpers Way industrial site is one of its key employment areas. In West Ealing, the 1970s Green Man Lane Estate has been knocked down and is being rebuilt with a mix of affordable and private homes.

For materials, Selco is on Hanger Lane and Screwfix has a Park Royal store on Abbey Road. Parking is tighter. Ealing Broadway, West Ealing and Hanwell town centre all sit in controlled parking zones, and in 2024 the council proposed longer hours in nine zones, Ealing Broadway and West Ealing among them.

How we help people in Ealing

Because so many Ealing firms are small professional businesses, limited company accounts, payroll and VAT matter here as much as CIS. Both town centres also have a business improvement district, where firms pay a small levy to fund local projects: Make It Ealing won a new term running from 2026 to 2031, and InWestEaling covers more than 350 businesses.

Questions people in Ealing ask us

I run a food business in Park Royal. Can you handle the VAT?

Yes. Park Royal has around 500 food firms, and VAT on food is easy to get wrong: some items are zero rated and others are not, and hot food or catering is treated differently from cold food sold to take away. We check how each of your products should be treated before your first return goes in.

My office is on The Broadway. Do I pay anything to the BID?

If your premises are inside the Make It Ealing area, you may pay the BID levy on top of your business rates, and businesses voted for a new five year term in 2025. Treat the levy like your rates: it is a running cost of the business and belongs in your accounts.

Is Hanwell covered as well as Ealing?

Yes. Hanwell has its own centre around Hanwell Broadway and its 1937 clock tower, and we treat it as part of this page. West Ealing and the Ealing side of Park Royal are covered here too.

Can I claim parking when I visit clients near Ealing Broadway?

Yes, parking you pay for on a business visit is normally a cost you can claim. Ealing Broadway is in controlled parking Zone W, so pay by app where you can, because the app history is an easy record for us to work from.

Do you work with consultants as well as trades?

Yes. Financial and professional services are among Ealing's main specialisms, with about 5,000 jobs in those fields. If you run a one person limited company, we look after the company accounts, your director's payroll and your own tax return together, so the numbers always match.
